Oven Gloves – Product Review

Oven Gloves
[Cut Resistant Gloves] FREETOO High Performance Kitchen Gloves, Light-weight, Level 5 Hand Protection, Food-safe and Durable – Black and WhiteOven Gloves

Strong durable hard wearing Oven gloves which can prevent cuts, they’re food safe and they fit well which means you can use utensils,

I was sent the large size of these gloves, I found the fit to be very good around the fingers and hand but I found the top part near the wrist was a bit baggy.
I found the gloves to be comfortable when wearing them, even after a long period the gloves were still comfortable to wear.
The wrist of the glove has strong elastic which holds the Oven gloves around your wrists very well, the gloves didn’t slip down and it prevents anything from getting inside the gloves.

The Oven gloves are cut resistant which is rated at cut level 5, they feel very tough, the fibres are knitted together really tightly which prevents the knife from cutting through the fibres, the Oven gloves feel really strong and durable.

The gloves can be used in a kitchen since they are food safe and due to the good fit, you can easily handle kitchen utensils or food with them.

The Oven gloves can be used in a construction environment or in a garden if you’re handling sharp objects like glass or removing anything with thorns in the garden, these gloves with help to protect your hands from getting cut.

They come in a reusable bag which has a zip seal and the bag can be used to store the Oven gloves in.

Overall I think these gloves are fairly good for the price, they fitted well enough, they feel really strong and seem to offer very good protection, the fabric feels really hard wearing which means they should last a long time.

Bluetooth Headphones – Product Review

Bluetooth Headphones
Bluetooth Headphones, Mixcder Ghost Over-Ear Bluetooth 4.0 Headsets aptX CD Sound, Wireless or Wired Noise Isolating with Built-in Microphone, Surround Deep Bass Stereo (Tatoo Black)Bluetooth Headphones

Good quality sound which is best suited for acoustic, indie & alternative music. Build quality is excellent & very comfortable,

In the Box:
Mixcder Ghost Headphones
Micro USB Cable
3.5mm Headphone Jack Cable (Gold Plated)
Breathable Drawstring Carry Bag
User Manual.

🔵 Fitting Size:
From the bottom of the headphone to the inside of the top band is 19cm and when the bluetooth headphones are fully extended the size from the bottom to the inside band is 21.5cm.
The ear pads are an oval shape when light pressure is applied to the ear pads the side is 8.5cm wide and 10cm high, depending on your ear size, the bluetooth headphones will either seat on top of your ears or your ears will fit inside them. The size is in-between on-ear and over-ear headphones.
The headphone have adjustable ear pads which pivot to the shape of your head and they also rotate which allow you to have them around your neck with the Bluetooth headphones lying flat and since they rotate, you can have the hand band on different positions on your head.

🔵 Comfort:
These Bluetooth headphones are really comfortable, the ear pads and the headband have memory type foam in, which makes the foam form around your ears perfectly, offering a good seal and comfort.

🔵 Build Quality:
The build quality is very good on these Bluetooth headphones, they have a metal headband which will flex to the shape of your head, the headphones are mainly made out of plastic which has a soft matte rubber coating, and the headphones are covered in a soft leather which has a pattern on it.
The Bluetooth headphones are well put together, all the fittings are very tidy, the headphones look and feel high quality.

🔵 Sound Quality:
The sound quality is very good, the highs and mids are well balanced, the bass is very responsive but it isn’t overpowering bass which thumbs hard.
Vocals sounded very good on these Bluetooth headphones, the headphones provided a good range of sound.
Overall the sound quality was very good, the headphones provided clear and crisp music with a lot of clarity
When listening to the song the stereo sound worked perfectly, you could hear different sounds and volume levels coming out of each driver.
The headphones don’t have a really loud volume, the maximum volume level is set at a comfortable level which won’t hurt your ears.
When the headphones were turned right up they did not distort at all.
I found that these headphones canceled the surrounding sound out fairly well but other people around you can hear your music.
I would say these headphones are best suited for acoustic, indie and alternative music.

🔵 Controls:
The Bluetooth headphones have six controls in total, each side has three controls, unlike other headphones these controls are easy to use since you don’t use the same buttons to do different commands, you have separate skip and volume buttons.
The controls are in an easy to reach places and they are laid out in an order which is easy to remember.
The only thing which I didn’t like about the buttons was you had to hold the power button down for a few seconds before turning the headphones off.

🔵 Hands-Free:
The Bluetooth headphones can be used as hands-free to answer phone calls, so you do not need to remove the headphones and pick your phone up!
The call quality is really good, unlike most headphones which have a tiny hole for the microphone, these headphones have a microphone behind a big grill which allows people on the other end of the phone to hear you well and clearly.

🔵 Battery:
After the first charge which will take longer, the Bluetooth headphones take around 2 hours to charge, if you use a 2.4amp charger and if you use a smaller charger, the charging speed will be much slower.
The headphones charge up using the supplied Micro USB cable and the battery will last up to 20 hours.
The headphones can be used whiles the headphones are charging.

🔵 Bluetooth:
To pair the Bluetooth headphones you need to make sure the headphone are turned off then you need to hold the power button down until you get an audio voice which tells you the headphones have entered pairing mode, on most devices you will not need to enter a pin but if you do the pin is 0000.
The headphones have Bluetooth 4.0 which isn’t the newest Bluetooth standard since we are on 4.1 now but it does have big improvements over the previous Bluetooth standards, it is much for energy efficient which means longer battery life, the connectivity is much better meaning a more stable connection and the transfer speeds have improved a lot which means you won’t get lag between the headphones and your device.

🔵 Audio Jack:
The Bluetooth headphones have an audio jack socket which allows you to turn them into wired headphones.
When using them as wired headphones you no longer rely on the battery which means you can use the headphones even when the battery has run out.
The headphones come with a 3.5mm Audio cable which allows you to plug them into your media devices.

✅ My Thoughts:
Overall I really like these Bluetooth headphones, they have a very trendy style which gives an indie alternative look.
The build quality and comfort was outstanding on these headphones and I was fairly impressed with the sound quality.
The tie bag which they come with is ideal for keeping the headphones safe when you’re transporting them.
I would recommend these Bluetooth headphones to anyone who likes acoustic, indie and alternative music.
The headphones are not as good for heavier music which has a lot of deep bass.

GreenWorks G-MAX Mower

GreenWorks G-MAX Mower, 40V 4 AH Li-Ion Battery and Charger Inc

About 500 sq ft per charge,

I have a lot size of 177 x 65 = 11505 sq ft + 65 * 10 = 650 sq ft between sidewalk and curb of which, about 970 sq ft is grass. I can do all of the front and about 1/3rd of the back before I have to recharge the batteries. Recharge of both batteries takes about 5 hours for me, 3 for the big one and two for the small one. Both batteries are 40 volt, but one is 4 Ah and the other is 2 Ah, so about half the power. I really don’t mind this because I need a break about halfway through anyway and it is a good stopping point. Basically, I get the whole front done and all of the cutting in/small spots done in the back, leaving just one big easy square in the middle to finish up after a recharge. The mower is very quiet as others stated and has an automatic high speed mode that kicks in when you are in heavy/high grass. It does an excellent job of cutting and mulching. Actually looks like you bagged even when you mulch, which is very nice. There is some getting used to trimming around things. The sides do a good job of getting to the edges, but the front does not. Remember the front blade is only on the left half and about 6 inches back from the front of the mower so in some spots where you normally do a front to back motion to get into a small space, you will need to trim more.

As for using it, as some have stated, it is very quiet and light. It feels more like you are using a toy mower that happens to actually cut the lawn very well. I am thinking of buying an additional charger for $33 to cut the recharge time down to 2 to 3 hours, but an additional 4 Ah battery is a little expensive. At Amazon, it is $123! I had absolutely no problems using it and I have everyone (including my wife) who comes to the house try it out for a minute just to see how quiet and light it is! If I had to have my wife cut the lawn some day, I would feel a lot better about her using this than my old gas mower.

The one lever height adjustment is very nice and easy to use and no figuring out front notches vs back notches. No pull start, just press the start button and hold it then pull the operation handle. The mower stops as soon as you let go of the operation handle so that is a nice safety feature. Much safer mower to have the kids use. I now only have one gas powered item left and that is my leaf blower. I just have never found an electric rechargeable that has enough power for blowing wet heavy leaves. I used to use about one gallon of gas per lawn cut, and as someone noted, it costs about 5 cents to charge these batteries. If that is correct I am saving about $3.50 per lawn cut so * 30 weeks per year = about $100 per year. Then add onto that the oil + filter + new blade every year and I would say this thing should save me abot $150 per year! The box says it has a 4 year warranty and I bought the extended warranty as well so I feel very good about the cost overall. My old craftsman was in the Sears repair shop 3 times over 3 years and each time I was without my mower for 1 to 4 weeks! There is zero vibration in the handle of this thing and it never feels like it is about to choke out on heavy damp grass!

My only complaint is I wish it had an option for two big batteries for say $50 more and maybe I could do the whole lawn on one charge. Aside from that, it is an excellent mower and investment.

Black & Decker SPCM1936 19-Inch 36-Volt Cordless Electric Self-Propelled Lawn Mower With Removable Battery

Great mower for smaller lawns,

Depending on what your needs are, this mower can be extremely beneficial to you and your lawn care. After two weeks of usage, this mower proves to be very reliable and lives up to its claims.

My lawn is about a quarter of an acre, so it’s fairly small and not very demanding to take care of. I live in the pacific northwest, and my grass is standard cut and length. Both times I used the mower on the lawn the mower started right up, mowed the entire lawn on one battery charge, and was very clean and extremely quiet. Charging the battery can be done while the battery is in the lawn mower, or anywhere you wish as the battery is easily removable. This is a plus if you want to store you mower in a shed, and charge the battery in the garage.

Installation of the mower is very simple and is fully and succinctly illustrated with the accompanying manual. I assembled the mower in less than 20 minutes, and I have never installed a mower prior to this experience.

As I mentioned before, the engine is really quiet. The low purr of the engine is the first thing you’ll notice when it comes to this mower. I live in a fairly densely populated area, so having the option of mowing earlier or later in the day is very convenient for me.

The only caution I would give to consumers is to investigate how big your lawn is, and make sure this mower will be enough for you. My parents have a lawn that is 2 acres, and when I tried this mower on their grass I had to charge the battery a few separate times. It seems that if you have a small yard this mower is extremely convenient, but the larger your lawn gets, the more of a hassle this mower can potentially be.

On a different note, I wanted to mention that this mower is very poorly packaged. When I received this from UPS the box was completely obliterated, and the main reason why is the box was pathetically lightweight. Normally I don’t see any reason to include packaging issues when reviewing a product as that says nothing about the product itself, but when you’re ordering a mower that is 100 pounds, and you’re paying 500 dollars for it, you should get a box that’s pretty durable and well-packed. I have noticed that other reviewers have mentioned this same issue, and while my mower showed no damage, I was quite surprised it wasn’t dinged up.

All in all, this mower is great for a small lawn and is easy on the environment which is a huge selling point for me. It’s refreshingly quiet, easy to charge up, starts every time.I would highly recommend it!

DuroStar DS4000S Generator

DuroStar DS4000S 4,000 Watt 7.0 HP OHV 4-Cycle Gas Powered Portable Generator

Great Generator for a great price!,

I live in Florida so I thought I should get a generator before the hurricane season as I have put it off for too long and I can imagine they will be very scarce if a hurricane arrives and after looking at the ones in Home Depot etc this one seemed to be a very good price at $297 with Free Shipping and no tax.

My generator arrived about 7 days after I purchased it and after unpacking I was surprised at how well built it looks, fitted the wheel kit first then oil and a small amount of gas and it started on the second pull and run sweet! I plugged in two lamps plus two large fans and a drill and it didn’t miss a beat.

I decided when I purchased this generator that I wanted one big enough to run my fridge/freezer, a few lamps and a few fans in an outage and I think it will do that fine as I do not want to power the whole of the street lights.

My generator came with a gas gauge and a black gas cap which is not a problem as its one thing less to rust, it also came with the small toolkit and also a small angled funnel so filling with oil was not a problem and when I change the oil the funnel will fit under the drain hole so I can empty into a small flat container without having to tilt the generator.

The wheel kit instructions are very poor but it’s very easy to see where to fit the parts if you just think about it first.

The noise level is about what I expected, just like a mower. I would definitely purchase the wheel kit as it is not easy to move about especially with 4 gallons of gas. Because i am storing it in the garage i cut the flaps off the top of the shipping box and placed over the generator and it makes a good cover at no expense. Let’s hope I do not need to use it but its there if needed.

DuroMax XP4400E Generator

DuroMax XP4400E 4,400 Watt 7.0 HP OHV 4-Cycle Gas Powered Portable Generator With Wheel Kit And Electric Start

I Really Like This Generator,

After many years of dealing with a primitive patched together electrical grid we have here on Long Island and throwing out a refrigerator and freezer full of food several times after summer storms and having to drain the water and heating system to keep them from freezing after winter storms, I had enough. Where I live, the wires run through trees. The slightest wind was enough to leave us without power for hours to several days.

I was going to get a generator. Then Hurricane Irene came along. I didn’t have a generator yet. Several days later I opened the refrigerator and freezer and threw everything out as I had done many times in the past. A generator became a priority.

I liked the Duromax XP 4400E because it seemed to have good reviews, had enough wattage to run several appliances, was reasonably priced and it ran for 8 hours on 4 gallons of gasoline. Amazon had a sale with free shipping. I felt it was a good deal. I bought one.

The generator arrived in a few days. The box was a bit beat up but the contents were fine. I put the generator together. Putting oil in it was a bit annoying as the fill plug was not easily accessible. A funnel with some plastic tubing attached to it solved this problem. I added gasoline, choked it, turned the key and it fired right up. I hooked up a drop light and some power tolls and used them working around the yard. The generator powered them for a few hours with no problem.

I stored the generator in my garage. When I was outside, I would take the generator out and use it or just start and run it for a while. I changed the oil and kept fresh gasoline in it. Running it occasionally also keeps the battery charged.

Then along came Super Storm Sandy. Trees came down and took out the wires. No surprise there. It was just a matter of how long it would take to get electric again. I hooked the generator up to 2 refrigerators and a freezer. The generator ran fine and the food stayed cold. After a few days I needed a shower. I hooked my water heater to the generator. My wife thought it would be nice to have heat also. I hooked the heating system too. The generator hummed along just fine. Then I hooked up a few portable lamps, a television, router and computer. We had heat, hot water, cold food and even TV and internet. Courtesy of the Duromax XP 4400E.

The only potential problem I saw was the availability of gasoline. After 5 days I waited on a gas line with portable cans. Although I had enough gasoline on hand to last a few more days, I didn’t know when power would be restored so I thought it prudent to get some more just in case we were out for several more days. I never needed that extra gas. Power was restored a couple of days later.

The generator performed flawlessly throughout the whole time. it even blew away the run time stated in the specs. It didn’t just run 8 hours on the 4 gallons of gas, It was more like close to 15 hours. I would fill it around 6AM, leave for work and when I got home, the generator was still running. It ran out around 8:30 to 9:00 PM. I was very impressed with that. Just with the food I saved, the generator payed for itself.

My neighbor also purchased a generator around the same time I did. His is a different brand and larger wattage unit but uses propane as a fuel. He ran off his barbeque tanks and 100 lb tanks on the side of his house. He had no issues with waiting on gasoline lines. He also has a smaller gasoline powered unit and thinks it’s prudent to have both. If one breaks down or runs out of a fuel type, you have a backup, especially with all the frequent power outages we seem to have.

I noticed Duromax has the XP4400 EH Dual Fuel Generator. It runs on propane or gasoline. Amazon had a sale on it before Christmas. I bought one. Now the 2 generators sit side by side in the garage waiting for the next big outage. Hopefully with a new rewired electric grid and better tree trimming by the utility, multi day outages will be a thing of the past and the generators won’t be needed as much. I will still keep them maintained and use them in limited service. When and if the next big outage occurs, I’ll be better equipped to deal with it.

Champion Power Equipment 46539 Reviews

Champion Power Equipment 46539 Reviews

Champion Power Equipment 46539 4,000 Watt 196cc 4-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Generator With Wireless Remote Electric Start (CARB Compliant)

Best Money I’ve Spent,

I bought this Champion Power Equipment 46539 generator at the beginning of this past summer in preparation for the summer storm season. After dodging a bullet last year and not losing power at all during hurricane Irene I got really paranoid that we wouldn’t be so lucky the next time. Well, turns out I was right and buying this was a good call. We just got power back last night after three days being down thanks to Sandy. Our area of central NJ got hit pretty hard and power has been out all over. Having this champion power equipment generator really made dealing with the storm so much easier for me and my family.

Anyway, this is a really nice unit with good features. I was looking for something that would handle the basics, sump pump, refrigerator, a few lights, and maybe a TV and DVD player for the kids. This unit handled all of it easily, plus some more. Shipping was quick and the unit was well packed. The only issue I had when initially received was that the engine would tend to gallop (engine rpm rising and dropping), but a call to Champions customer service line took care of it. They were awesome to deal with on the phone. One of their techs walked me through removing the gas tank and making a small adjustment to the engine governor which solved the problem in about 15 minutes. I give their customer service an A+.

The wireless remote starter is a nice feature and works well. The unit starts easily, engine runs smooth, and gas consumption was pretty good, very close to the manufacturers claims. We ran this unit for nearly three days straight and it never missed a beat. Overall quality seems very good. Good quality fasteners are used throughout and the design is easy to work on and service. I know a few people had issues with broken welds on the frame but I didn’t see any of that. All welds looked clean well done on our unit. Only thing I could probably say negatively, and this is really a minor nit to pick, is that some of the details on the unit are a little different than what is shown in the manual. For instance, the engine oil drain plug is in a slightly different location and orientation on the unit as compared to the image shown in the manual. This might confuse some folks. Otherwise the manual is very good, clearly written and easy to understand. Overall for basic emergency home use this Champion Power Equipment 46539 generator is a good choice.
